Jake's Pokemon Picture

Jake subscribes to the Beckett Pokemon magazine. He saw they had an art gallery so he decided to draw a picture for it. He had it all ready to go and asked me to address the envelope. So I look at the magazine to get the address and get this-he has to send in $29 for them to put his picture in the gallery!! In this issue they had 63 pictures in the gallery, so that works out to over $1800 they made JUST FOR USING ABOUT EIGHT PAGES OF THEIR PRECIOUS MAGAZINE!! They publish monthly so you can only imagine the profit they are making off these little kids! Needless to say I don't have $29 to give them the privilege of printing my child's picture in their magazine so I promised Jake (who is so sad about it) that I would put it on my blog. That is the best I can do. So here it is-this is a smaller version. Please click on it to see it in its full size glory. :)

Jake,

Your drawing is super cool! I really like how you used different colors to make it so realistic - like in the dragon's burst of fire!

Did you know that in Haiti, there is a rock formation that looks like a dragon's head? The rock is right on the beach, and if you stand on top of the rock and listen carefully, the sound of the waves crashing against the rock sounds like a dragon breathing! kinda neat, huh?

I am going to send your mom's blog to some friends of mine, so they can see your cool drawing!

You rock!! :)

Jake! Swe-e-e-e-t!! I remember my son was really into Pokemon and he liked to draw pictures too. It's really cool you get the magazine, but it's nicer having your picture on the internet so the whole WORLD gets to see it. And that really is a GREAT Charizard, looks just like the picture on our Pokemon glass!

Thanks for letting your mom show us!
